This book deals with women?s movements, politics and awareness. The changed social milieu has brought women in politics. The 73rd Constitutional Amendment which guarantees one-third representation of women in Panchayti Raj institutions and civic bodies has initiated a process of empowerment of women in general and in the countryside in particular. But still they have to do much to assert themselves in power positions. General awareness among women is also increasing and women?s movements have played crucial role in uplifting women?s status and increasing awareness among them.
