Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS), with their deep roots in history, philosophy, and culture, offer a wealth of insights that can be harnessed to revitalise modern education. Education is a dynamic field that is constantly influenced by cultural, social, and technological changes. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the importance of indigenous knowledge systems in shaping educational paradigms.
As we embark on this trip, we will look at India?s historic pedagogical approaches, such as holistic learning, experiential education, and the merging of arts and sciences. These practices provide a framework that can address the challenges faced by contemporary education systems. The Gurukul system, for instance, promoted personalized instruction and mentorship, concentrating on the entire development of students. By analysing historical methods, we can find features that can be implemented into modern educational frameworks.
One of the primary objectives of this research is to investigate the role of Indian Knowledge Systems in modern education, particularly in light of globalisation and the digital age. How can we incorporate traditional knowledge into current curricula? What role does IKS play in instilling critical thinking, creativity, and ethical values among students? These are the questions we intend to answer in this book.
